There was a lot of staff discussion and traffic happening just outside the kitchen doors. It was very distracting when staff would stand there for 3-5 minutes casually chatting. The real disappointment was how long it took for us to have drinks filled with so many staff around. The food was hit and miss. Our beef tenderloin medallion meal was very tasty and i would return just for this alone. The tiramisu had a chocolate sauce that over powered the dish leaving it barely edible.

I ordered their seafood special and never did I expect the two-tier platters of seafood I received! It was so delicious and lots of leftovers to take home. I am not good at cracking lobsters, and our server helped me. He was so kind! My husband tried the Wagyu and he was not impressed. He said he prefers the NY Strip over the Wagyu. Maybe it's an acquired taste? Overall, great food and excellent service. We love coming to Rare.

It’s a very lovely place to eat, with nice views even in a winter evening. My sister-in-law enjoyed her salmon, brother had a great burger, my pasta was nice but nothing special. Anyway, it’s a very nice out of the way place in south Anchorage that should probably deserves more clientele.

I was later given a random seating and I had to order food A La Cart which was more expensive compared to having an actual buffet for my party. Everything was A La Cart. No group pricing for game passes. Ended up more expensive than anticipated.
