We went for Easter Brunch. I would have given this five stars but there was limited breakfast food. They really only had biscuits and gravy. No eggs, no pancakes, nothing of the sort. The seafood was excellent though. I would certainly go back but knowing that it's mainly lunch foods.
I would have given this 4.5 Stars if there was an option. The service was really good. The food was great. Highly recommend the crab cakes. Great flavors on the creme brulee but no crack on the sugar top. I was just disappointed that they forgot I was there for a birthday. My guest had a great time so the birthday recognition was inconsequential. I just thought after the long discussion I had setting up the reservation that they would have remembered. Overall definitely return. However, I recommend Oku on South boulevard for special occasions. That for me is the bench mark of great service.
I have been wanting to try their bunch since I read about it on Charlotte Agenda. I wanted to like it so badly. The menu looked great. The tasting menu changed since I first saw it, but a lot of the same things were on it still, just a few things that I wanted to try were gone. The price also increased to $30 per person. We tried most of the menu which included: Sweet and Sour Calamari, Korean Fried Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Virginia Country Ham Bao Buns, Roasted Meatballs, Walnut Pumpkin Pancakes, Curried Deviled Eggs, Country Ham and Pimiento Cheese Biscuit, Pork Belly Benedict, Upstream Slider, and the Roast of the Day. The best of the food was just ok, but some of it was really bad. The one thing I really liked were the Bao buns, but when we got a second order of them they were not cooked and my husband's tasted like bleach. My favorite thing was the coffee cake they gave you to start the meal. You can order two plates each at a time. The tasting menu is all you can eat. The portions are small so you can try a lot. The presentation was good, the service was good. The restaurant was almost empty. As I said, I really wanted to love it, it just wasn't good. I can't recommend coming here.
Went for restaurant week last year and everything was fabulous. Amazing service and atmosphere and the food was to die. Definitely high quality and quantity for your money. From steak sashimi, brussel sprouts, fish, steak, to desserts. You can go so much care and thought into any court. Can't wait to come back soon!
