The bacon is thickly cut and perfectly cooked! My coffee never came under half a cup... If you haven't stopped, you missed a real treat!
This is the quintessential little city-dinner experience: a small building, with about a dozen places on the counter and a few more at a table where customers are regular. The friendly staff seemed to know everyone who came in, and despite the varied menu, most people were there for the northeast Mississippi Delikatesse of the Schluchtburger. If you are unfamiliar with this term, a slug burger is a depression-era burger that combines beef with flour as a filler (to get as many burgers as possible from a cow) that used to taste a nickel, or a slug. This was my first introduction to the gorge burger and, although I had never had a burger with a golden brown crust, it was surprisingly delicious, especially the onion. Although they no longer cost nickel, they are still at .95 for a regular slug burger. My friend and I had a Slug cheeseburger, a regular cheeseburger, a side and a drink, and still only paid and changed $10. I asked the owners how their sluts burgers compared to those of local rivals Abe 's grill, and they claimed they were the hands down the best, with several customers in their agreement. I think I need to see if that's true. For a good place to eat in Corinth, the white car is worth a visit.
FYI Cheese Burger is a Slug Burger Beef Burger is a cheese burger. Here's the bomb. I went through life and thought that a **** burger was filled with crispy meat... his depression burgers actually because in. the depression this was the ideal way to make a cheap burger flower and so its meat free.
Big Slug Burger!. Although the counterspace is somewhat narrow, the burgers are great and the price is right!
Make a Trolley Stop. So I don't eat in here like most, because I'm not that comfortable with the counter type, small space that is the WT. However, the WT is serving up some tasty stuff. I've heard from slugburger connoisseurs that this place is hitting home runs. I enjoy the beef aspect of it. They serve up a plate-sized hamburger steak. I swear that thing will feed an army. Also, in the mornings, go on up there for a warm, gooey grilled cheese.
