My friends treated me to a birthday dinner near their home and I finally got to try this place. I decided to go with the steak and enchilada plate, since I was curious about enchiladas at a steak place that clearly wasn't a Mexican restaurant. The steak was good, properly cooked, as was my friends, with a nice pink center, charred on the outside, juicy, and cooked perfect like a medium rare steak should be. We both commented that the cook actually did this right, where many places don't. The enchilada was so-so, the meat/chili sauce on it was strong with bland chili powder, the meat was lean and a little dry. I probably wouldn't go with enchiladas again, but the steak made up for it. Our sides changed last minute when we noticed the roasted cream corn, both my friend and I decided to get this as a side and it wasnt disappointing. It had good flavor and was unique, the most similar thing Ive had is a Korean baked corn, and this was a cross between Mexican corn in a cup, and Korean baked corn. We purchased a sampler of fried mushrooms, onion rings, and zucchini, all of which were really good. The small order of these was enough to feed 3 people with a few pieces left over. The portion size on this was huge, and Id hate to see the large order. Prices were fair, service was pretty good, we were there close to closing and after a large rush had just come thru. Overall the food was good, and I would consider visiting again to try a few more items.
Love coming here. Have been coming here for 11 years and the food is better than it 's EVER been. (Except the fries, they are soggy I miss the crispy fries please bring them back!! . They have a new cook and this person knows what they are doing!! Saturday night was pretty packed so we try and go earlier in the day otherwise there is a wait. There was live music Sat night in my opinion the speakers were way too loud. But yeah the BEST food in the area!! Great drinks too!! Note please stop using Windex to disenfect the tables and get a proper disinfectant!! Windex does not do the job!
Eating is always great...local family owned and oriented. server are friendly and about. since 18 years have been there and the rebuilt facilities are the 1st guess. ideal for meeting or relaxing meal or drinks. the pricing is somewhat higher than for similar foods elsewhere. to be a small town, probably the way to survive after covid.
Super great service! handmade food that taste amazing! super funny folk art decor. they have a really sweet gift shop. remember barrel, but sweeter. whoever is her buyer, he kills it! I had her signed steak. I wish I had the hot one because it was pretty tough on medium. the fired cream mais was a funny twist on a classic. the brot on her chicken roast steak was fresh and unique. I enjoyed it very much. Stop!
First experience. I celebrated my jubilee. apossible mushrooms. beautifully cooked medium rare rib eye with a cheese enchilada covered in chili. the lever and the wobbles were prepared exactly to my taste. they must have the mac and bee! throw them in a full salatable and a very good wine and beer selection and they cannot go wrong with this well-run restaurant.
