Once my order was ready, it was placed on the counter along with other orders. I checked the bag and noticed the shake didn’t seem to be the right size. I pulled it out to ask for clarification: “Is this a large shake?” It was clearly a small one. I informed a staff member that I had ordered a large. He went to speak with the manager about the mix-up. The manager approached and abruptly started to charge me for a small shake, even though I had only asked for a large. I was more than willing to pay the difference, but instead, the manager went to the shake station and quickly made a large one, placing it on the counter. She then asked me to hand over the small shake that was also on the counter. I did, and she proceeded to throw it directly in the trash, which felt utterly unnecessary. Later, when I opened my sandwich, I was disappointed to see it was falling apart, made off-center with all the condiments squished onto one side. And the tomatoes? They were green and yellow, definitely not fresh or appetizing. Overall, it’s clear this restaurant is struggling to take care of its customers. In hindsight, my original review said it was one of the better McDonald's locations. They used to do better than most, and the service seemed more attentive. In the past, while I was waiting for my order, a counter clerk even came out to let me know my food was ready—a rare experience at a McDonald's. It felt like a well-run establishment for what it was, but unfortunately, that’s not how I feel now. I won’t be returning again.
This McDonald's used to be great, but my experience this evening was quite disappointing. I'm not sure if it has changed ownership, but what happened to customer service? It feels like the staff act as if they are doing customers a favor while they collect their paychecks. Do they not realize that without customers, their hours would be nonexistent? This is truly disheartening, and I blame management for the poor service. They need to improve things quickly. I would give zero stars if I could, but I have to add at least one.
