The eating here was top class, both breakfast dinner was freshly cooked, I enjoyed every last bit, rooms are set back from the street so that a good night sleep is guaranteed. really nice place, both bar/lounge restaurant had a lot of character, the rooms have everything they need, good pressure in the shower, ironing board. the wlan was also very good. will definitely stay here again.
Great accusation with everything they want. good location with close connections to important stretches, but quiet enough to feel. the two highlights are however the employees who are helpful, courteous and friendly and eating is simply fantastic, with a varied menu that is from a very high standard. the chief here is great. I recommend the poor jersey and if I ever have to stay within 50 miles of this place in the future, I will book here.
We had a comfortable stay, room was very decent in size, warm water with very good water pressure in the shower, friendly staff, ample parking space, comfortable bed and beddings. We had issues with mobile internet and wifi connectivity in the room, the separate hot and cold water taps in the sink, although classic and charming to look at isn't really helpful, a mixer tap should be the norm. Bathroom indeed looked tired. Other than that, decor is cool, road noise is barely noticeable in the room. I am happy to sleep here again.
I have been here for a week and the staff (Guy Dave) are brilliant always a warm welcome and you are greeted with a smile. The rooms are so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of bed. The bar staff (Sophie Z) are warm. friendly and always have a smile on there face, the Chef (Gray) doesn’t just cook the best food I have had but he will come out the kitchen himself and speak to the people who are eating his food (All freshly prepared) and ask you “ Are you enjoying your meal is there anything I can do” second to none. If you stay within 25 mile radius of Bicester this is the place to stay. The building itself is an 800 year old stone building but this does not stop you having all the mod cons of WiFi but it is coupled with the quaint old English architecture of a breath taking building 5 stars if there was 6 this place would get it. A must stay for a weekend break or better still make this the place your second home.
