My first experience with the Calzone at this restaurant was a delicious combination of chewy meats and melted cheeses, all wrapped up in a freshly baked pastry. The simplicity and quality of the ingredients really shone through, and it was worth the wait for it to be freshly baked.
After hearing some positive reviews about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try.
I should also note that the crust was crispier this time compared to one of our previous visits, resembling a much-improved version of a soda cracker. It was firm enough to hold up under the weight of the toppings, yet soft enough to cut or bite into without any difficulty. As for the price, like other restaurants in this chain, it leans towards the higher side. However, considering the quality and quantity you receive, I truly believe it’s worth it. The service was commendable, with prompt water refills and regular check-ins from the staff. The decor and ambiance were typical of a casual pizza chain, relaxed and inviting, with a noise level that allowed for easy conversation without the need to raise our voices. I will definitely return to this location or any other in the chain, and I’ll be sure to come with a big appetite!
This is our favorite restaurant whenever we visit the lower mainland. My husband has fond memories of Shakey’s Pizza from his childhood in Washington state, and this pizza is just as good! The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the food is consistently excellent. We even took our leftover pizza for a picnic during our road trip the next day! It was delightful! Sorry, we didn’t take any pictures of the pizza!
