The Counter - Mountain View

Even though the initial price of the burger is on the higher side, the free toppings/fillings you can choose from, around 20 options, are quite extensive. You can add things like a hard boiled egg, slaw, vegetables, and grilled pineapple at no extra cost, resulting in a substantial and impressive final product. We ordered takeout and our food was ready upon our arrival, so the service was efficient. Although we did not dine in, the restaurant seemed like a lively and enjoyable place to eat. The burger was delicious and satisfying, making it an easy place to enjoy with a nice selection of protein options. I opted for the grilled chicken while my wife went for the veggie burger.

I decided to try something different at The Counter and ordered the Sonoma bowl instead of their famous burgers. The bowl consisted of quinoa, mixed greens, a beef patty, tomatoes, onions, pesto, and herbed goat cheese. The burger was okay, a bit dry, with herbed goat cheese generously applied on top. There was not enough mixed greens or quinoa in the bowl. The oven-roasted tomatoes and onions were a nice touch but I felt there were too many onions. Overall, it was an okay experience. I believe for the price, the portion could have been larger and the dish could have been more flavorful.

The burger was excellent, with a great taste and cooked perfectly. I particularly enjoyed the bun. It would be nice to have sweet pickles with it instead of the old sour ones. I will definitely order it again today. Thank you.

The burgers were delicious, but the parmesan fries were disappointing. They seemed to just have grocery store shredded parmesan on top of limp, unsalted fries without any other flavor. The Horseradish Aioli was watery, and the Bourbon BBQ Sauce was overly sweet and thick. The fried chicken in the build your own burger had good flavor, and the onion straws were enjoyable, but overall the meal was just average.

The fry containers were not completely closed, causing them to quickly cool down. While the burgers are usually delicious, they were tough to chew and lacked flavor today.
