Panda Express - Salt Lake City

It is a standard Chinese fast food restaurant. It is good food in a pinch. If you have ever been to a generic Chinese restaurant this is the kind of food and quality to expect. The service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant is clean.

Yeah okay, it's Panda Express, but it's one of my guilty pleasures. And of all locations I've been to, this is probably one of my favorites. More often than not the service is great, they aren't stingy on portions, and they're helpful. I'll keep coming back for my cheap Americanized Chinese food!

The restaurant is clean and adequate, but it can get busy during meal times. I once arrived at 7:30 and was the only customer. The staff took my order, but I had to wait at the cash register as they seemed preoccupied with online orders. Eventually, someone from the kitchen reminded them to process my payment. It seemed like there was a lack of management, as the staff appeared overwhelmed. Shortly after I was seated, a line of at least 15 customers formed, and the service seemed a bit slow despite there being four staff members behind the counter.

This restaurant gives priority to online orders. After waiting for 20 minutes, the line has only moved 10 feet. Currently, the line extends all the way to the bathroom. Forty minutes later, I finally reached the door after joining the line. When my order was ready, they prepared three to-go orders before letting me pay, hiding them from the next customer in line. Five minutes after I paid, another customer who had not even arrived yet was given priority over those waiting in line. It was quite surprising to see online orders taking precedence over in-person customers.
