"There's a rural world in which the local restaurant serves burgers, fries, liver, onions, roast-beef sandwiches, and coleslaw -- you know the type. This restaurant in the charming river-front town of Dunnville is not part of that rural world. It's a little eatery on the main drag, sophisticated in its culinary offering but unpretentious in its delivery. My wife and I had the soup of the day -- chicken with fresh vegetables -- and then shared a BLT on toasted mutligrain. Excellent lunch! Yes, there were French fries, but these ones were exquisite. On a hot summer day, we appreciated the cool, dim lighting, in a tasteful restoration of an historic building, with exposed brick and butcher-block."

"My husband and I rarely go a weekend without making a visit to the Dunnville Doslea for an early morning breakfast. We never had the chance to eat here under the old ownership, and by reading some of the reviews, I think it's a good thing we didn't. By my understanding, and seeing the weekly renovations, I can tell this place is in for a magnificent lift! There is a wide variety for breakfast and it comes in a timely manner. My husband and I have been there more than our fair share, that they actually have our orders mesmerized. What can I say, we like our breakfast!The cherry on the cake is the service! I have never had a bad experience; they are all amazingly friendly, and the family-atmosphere of the place adds to character and charm! We have recommended the Dunnville Doslea to all of our friends and family. Check this place out! You will not regret it."

"I enjoyed supper last night at this stately establishment. It is like going back to an older time. One of the specials was grilled pork ribs with sautéed rock shrimp. That along with a baked potato, carrots and a beer did the trick. Service was acceptable. Great prices. Big menu should please most anyone."

"Regular pub fare on this menu, however, I haven't had a bad meal yet. I've had the Perch dinner before, very good fish etc. The hamburgers are hand pressed beef, so that too is a nice surprise from pre-fab frozen burgers. Décor is old style 50's diner type. Very cute, and cool. The only thing holding me back from a Very Good review, is the service is not so much slow as it is inefficient. We dine here regularly, and it's always the same, drop menus, leave,....come back 5-10 mins. (not exaggerating) later, take drink order.....come back 10-15 mins. later with drinks, don't take the order, come back later...etc etc...they drag out a 45 min. meal into a 90 min. ordeal. We were there after the Santa Claus parade...we arrived first before the parade even ended, 3 large tables arrived after us, full of kids etc, and they all got served, ate and left before we finished our meals....how does this happen? I noticed the waitress knew all the "parade goers" personally and she totally had the kitchen expedited their orders first. We were a table of 6. Two entrees came out, then 2 more, then the last two, 25 mins. later than the first two served. So 4 of us were almost done eating by the time the last two in our party were even served. This is unacceptable, especially since the last one served was my 11 year old son. You can imagine his disappointment watching the rest of us eat while he waited, patiently...Because it's my in-laws choice of restaurant we still go...but now we at least know we're in for a long haul. They even warn you when ordering any pasta dish that it's a minimum 25 mins. wait. Add in the slow service and it's a long dinner. They would be wise to give the servers a "refresher course" on efficiency. We've also experienced appetizers coming out almost the same time as the entrees...either the servers are asleep at the wheel and forget to bring them out on time or the kitchen needs to work on their timing issues."
