"We stayed at the Spirit Rock Inn after Mud Hero during the summer to extend our time in Grand Beach area. The owner, Julie, was extremely friendly and generous. The place was clean and comfortable."

"Gave an honest review on Facebook and was Attacked by the owners and their friends. Thought the food was a little overpriced. Fries tasted like they were frozen and the gravy didn't taste homemade. The chicken burger was tasty but the breast was way to fat and so made it less appealing. In my opinion the quality did not match the price. I would have gone back to try some other items on the menu but the response they gave me on Facebook turned me off for good."

"After spending the day at various beaches on the south basin of Lake Winnipeg, the fish entrails left by the pelicans are vastly preferential to the gag reflex inducing fish and chips served by this establishment. One bite is all I could handle and in the bin it went. The burger, very little better. Go home hungry and save your stomach and wallet."

"I really can’t say enough about this often underrated place. We went there this evening for an absolutely delicious meal. Everything about our meals was perfect and the service was outstanding. Things have really changed in the last few years and I am never disappointed when I come to The Sandbar. For dinner, we had some of the best french fries we’ve ever had (they double fry them! and my quesadilla was fabulous not an ounce of grease to be seen! The Ruben sandwich was fresh and delish and the chicken caesar salad was a large portion and super fresh. Even the Coca Cola was brixed properly! More local folks need to start supporting the small businesses in town if they want them to survive, and I highly recommend getting down to the sandbar ASAP to enjoy the great food and service! Edited to add in October 2022: Years later I still think the Sand Bar is amazing! The food this summer was again SO DELICIOUS! The best french fries in town, perfect beef dip and their burgers are unique and delicious. We also ordered their pizza for the first time and it was also very good! The new waitress Stephanie is a breath of fresh air and super friendly. Can't wait to go back!"
