Xiān Yú Wǎng Dài - 柳井市

I went to Hakaeri and had the "Seto clam rice bowl set meal" for lunch, which can only be eaten in this area. More than 60 years ago, it was plentiful and inexpensive, stewed clams were a staple of bento box side dishes, but now it's a luxury item! I was happy to discover how delicious it can be with some culinary ingenuity. It belongs to the mussel family, but the taste is robust. I enjoyed watching Kasasa Island, Oshima, and the passing ships from the window, although it was a bit chilly because the windows were open for COVID-19 precautions.

I visited this restaurant in January 2022 after researching local cuisine in Yanai City and discovering "kamameshi." I tried their kamameshi and it was delicious! The photo is of the seafood kamameshi set meal.

This is a seafood restaurant located along the coast. While it is situated along a national highway with a proper parking lot, the back of the building runs along the JR Sanyo Main Line tracks, making it not very accessible by train as it is located between stations. The menu offers a variety of options, and I chose to order the seafood bowl, which was delicious at a reasonable price. The sazae (turban shell) grilled with it was also very good. Depending on where you sit, you can enjoy a meal while looking out at the sea and Suo Oshima. It was a good restaurant where you can be satisfied at a reasonable price. If given the chance, I would like to try ordering other menu items as well.

日曜日のお昼時に来店。 12時過ぎには満席でした。 カキフライ定食を注文。¥1700なり。 大粒のカキフライが7〜8個入っていて満足感ハンパないです。 サイドメニューの酢の物とお味噌汁も丁寧な味付けでした。 ごちそうさまでした！ 次回はエビフライ食べに伺います。

とても立派なエビフライのついた釜飯定食を注文にあわせて作ってくれました。 お料理は全体的にとっても美味しかったです。 残念だったのは飲み物のバリエーションがかなり少ないということ。ほとんど焼酎しかありません あと、柳井周辺にしては少しお値段は高めです。
