On The Terrace - Aberdeen City

I recently stayed at the Mercure in Aberdeen. Unfortunately, there are other restaurants in the area that offer better quality and value. The hotel restaurant was not very popular, with only three tables booked on a Saturday evening. This lack of patrons speaks volumes about the dining experience there.

I went to The Terrace with three friends for afternoon tea to celebrate a special occasion. We were seated promptly upon arrival, but our waiter apologized for not being informed of our presence sooner. We ordered afternoon tea with prosecco, but unfortunately, we were unable to make any changes to the menu. Our food arrived, followed by tea/coffee and then our glasses of prosecco. We had hoped to start with the prosecco for a toast, but it arrived last. When we arrived, there was a dirty table behind us with leftover food that had not been cleared for over an hour. The smell was unpleasant and we had to ask for it to be taken away. The food itself was tasty, especially the pastries on the top tier, but we were disappointed that we could not get any extra sandwiches. Although the staff were polite, the service did not meet our expectations for The Thistle Caledonian. Being more accommodating with food choices and more attentive with service could greatly improve the experience. We would not choose to have afternoon tea here again.

The fish and chips at this restaurant are fantastic, with a great atmosphere that is perfect for guests staying at The Caledonian, especially on a chilly evening.

Was not aware that this retaurant had opened again post Paula McEwan. Well worth a visit great menu and excellent service. Food is beautifully presented and delicious from a range of seafood to scrumptious home made apple tart. Enjoy : We'll definitely be back for pleasure and business!

Nice restaurant, good staff, menu has all the usual dishes nothing very exciting to be honest, but decent for usual pub grub. Haddock was a bit small for the price but overall very good.
