Moreover, they had not asahi, only sapporo, but it surpassed the low expectations I had for Japanese food in costa rica.
What a nice surprise in Plaza Itskazú! We happened in and lunched on marvelous vegetarian Ramen and various sushi dishes. Charming decor and helpful staff added to our enjoyment.
While the ramen was nothing particularly special (some details like the egg need some work) the pork in it was beyond delicious, the service was relatively fast and prices are fair I'll definitely go back as they will have a nice selection of Japanese beers and sake As an update, the service has really won me on this place, the staff is friendly an attentive, rolls do have a good flavor (I'm partial for the Crunch Roll) and they always have cold Asahi on bottle which is a huge plus
If I learn about a new ramen place, I have to try it. So I'm quite picky when it comes to this specific dish. I asked the waiter for his recommendations and he said the seafood ramen. I was a bit suspicious because I never had seafood ramen...and it seemed like he had just recommended it because it was one of the most expensive dishes. I was very positively surprised!! Such an explosion of flavor! It's a bit pricey for a ramen, but it was delicious. I'm happy to overpay a bit for food that's truly tasty. Then I had the salmon and tuna tartare. That was lovely. Nothing out of this world... But exactly what it was supposed to be. Fresh and delicious. The plantain sticks in that dish were completely unnecessary and irrelevant in my opinion. Overall, I'd happily go back and it's now my 2nd favorite ramen place in Costa Rica.
The staff did not really understand English, but the food was delicious! Would recommend it a lot :
