My wife had a small amount of the ghormeh sabzi and could not sleep throughout the night because of stomach problems. So, we took the food back, and the lady was mean and uncooperative (very defensive). Instead of listening to the customer and trying to make better quality food to satisfy the customer, she condemned my wife for lying. This little restaurant, a hole in the wall, offers 37 different dishes and some are very complicated dishes to make and she is claiming to prepare each dish fresh every day; tell us another fable. Even a restaurant with ten cooks wouldn't offer this many varieties. Their behavior is defensive, immature, and rude. I do not know what kind of food the other people eat that can give this place 5 stars?
Discovered thru check please. Then walked to experience. Persian Wedding rice and chicken were unbelievably good.
I'm Persian. My partner is Mexican. Do the math, and it's no wonder that we ended up at Syma's. The food is so comforting and tasty. I got the Ghorme Sabzi and she got the Mole Enchiladas. We ended up adding the maast moosir (yogurt with shallots), and what a great idea! It was a delicious addition. After the meal, we wanted to add more comfort and relaxation by ordering a couple glasses of tea with flan, the perfect pairing of cultures. And the tea came out in beer mugs! What a perfect way to sip on tea. The service is warm and welcoming. The space is casual and unassuming. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30
We had a abgoosht lamb stew and lamb shank with green rice. The stew was of a hardy variety and good for a winter 's day. Different cultures have different varieties of lamb shank. I 've had the Afghan , Moroccan and Persian varieties. This version was quite tender. I do appreciate the simplicity of lamb shank. I had a margarita but it should of been a frozen variety. Since the machine was just turned on it wasn 't ready and tasted like a lime flavored non-carbonated mild soft drink. There was a dessert we tried reminding me of flan which wasn 't bad. The owner was very charming and helpful.
One of the few places that always exceeds your expectations. Every time I go there, I leave happier and more satisfied than when I walk in. Sima and her team deserves all the credit in the world for the great job they do. Thank you guys!!
