We have been to this resturant a number of times and found it to be friendly and very good food is to a high standards. Clay Oven is overated
When we visited here it was just on passing as it didn't have any mention due to change of name from Bombay Palace to Mother India. there were few people in the restaurant but we were made very welcome and the meal was really enjoyable. We began with starters which were tasty and well presented. for the main course the special biryani and peshwari nan were excellent but as the portions were so large I could only eat half. The staff willingly packed the remainder in takeaway boxes and I enjoyed a second meal a few days later.
Our Visit was on the 27th September. 2015 This restaurant is not posh, but is very friendly and clean. One of our friends had a mixed grill, the lamb a little on the chewy side but rest was good, the other had a plain omelette and chips (due to having a diet problem, It went down well, nothing left on her plate. My wife and I had a Bombay Chicken, Curry medium strength, it also disappeared sooner than later (Very Good I know two of us had sweets they also were very good Service was on the ball and not too long to wait after ordering. we recommend this restaurant for a dinner with no frills.
We had been to the CLAY OVEN RESTAURANT 4 day's before and as this restaurant was practically next door we decided to pay it a visit as we had been told the food in here was really good. The exterior is not as enticing as The Clay Oven Restaurant but the interior is really nice with comfortable seating and great decor. We ordered some beer's while we perused the menu and for our meal we started off with poppadoms served with their spicey veg and sause's,these were absolutely delicious mvety tadtyband a nice start to our meal. For our main meal i opted for chicken masala served with light fluffy rice and lovely proper fat cut chip's ,the whole meal was amazing,we had another beer to go with our meal and all in all had a wonderful dining experience. I really nmust mention the staff in here, super friendly and very attentive with a great sense of humour. The price was superb also, for the 3 of us , we had 3 starter's,main meal and side's and 2 beer's each and all for only €60 ,amazing value for money. Very easy to locate heading toward's the strip, you will find this restaurant on AVENIDA AREIES DE SAO JOAO in an area packed with some great restaurant's. Superb meal's, great value for money and very friendly staff, what more could you ask for.
