My husband has been telling me about this place for years, and we finally made our way. We both got a pork chop sandwich, (salt, pepper, hot sauce) and beans… the beans were absolutely amazing, and the layering of the pork on the sandwich, *chef’s kiss* I’ll be returning every so often for lunch. This is absolutely a hidden gem, and I encourage everyone to try it atleast once.
I haven 't been to Blue White in over 30 years, but I will say when I worked across the street at the Post Office, I ate there almost everyday. I grew up in DelRay and ate there quite a bit... but after I transferred to another Post Office in the Woodbridge area I haven 't had the opportunity to go back here to eat. If I 'm in The City it 's always after they 're closed for the day. This place was always busy. All the different foods I ate there were great and the prices were very reasonable. I 'm sure they 're still charging reasonable prices and I bet the food is still great especially after reading all the 5 star reviews. I hope to revisit soon now that I 'm retired.
Blue and White is the best place in Old Town Alexandria to get a Cary Out breakfast or lunch. Anyone who does not stop and try out this gem is missing out on really great street food.
Very good soul food. Come early and not late. They close at 2:30pm or so. Came here 3 times after failed attempts, but finally got to try it. Menu is not too cramped with a thousand options. Very straightforward with their selections. I got the chicken breast sandwich and side of collards and corn. Chicken was smothered in a hot sauce with pepper, but not overly done. Wish I could have tried the chicken livers, but are only available on Tuesdays. Can't wait to try the breakfast options too.
