Trusted places I visited and there was really a feeling for william wordsworth's kindness. some hands on activities for children and adults alike.
Like many carnivals this has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. there is a pleasant garden that would have been very large for the time. they can help a feeling for the environment that wordsworth helped promote, even though a very privileged one.
What a beautiful group of workers here who went out of their way to make our visit an unforgettable one. we went here with our dog know that we have to take it in turns to go the house and gardens. The...staff here has made us very welcome and offered to get us a cuppa while we waited in the dog-friendly courtyard. they even found our dog some water and a cookie cannot praise them high enough. quality customer service thank you. the house is worth a visit and staged as if the maid has just stepped out so interesting. it was recommended to make the audiotour that was really informatiw. many thanks to national trust .
This is a very beautiful Georgian house and worth a visit if they are close. we have the audio tour for and felt it was worth it. the national trust offers them at the end a free coffee and a scoone. great friendly service...from all staff.
As others have said there isn't a lot to see but we still spent minutes there. The story is imaginatively played out on projectors screens. Each room has its own booklet explaining what happens in them helpers are there to assist with...any questions. Plenty of things for kids to do in the form of dressing up, old games toys that you can touch. The garden at the back is small but perfectly formed and overlooks the river. Parking isn't that obvious as it doesn't have its own so you have to use the short stay off the main street or the long stay one across the river from main street. When done you can venture into Cockermouth for food, drinks shopping.
