We were bumped into the restaurant by chance because a brochure was found in our accommodation and it was close to our accommodation. The guest room is small but cozy and homely furnished with many old things. We liked it right now and we were glad to get another table the last free one. The menu is clear what I already found positive for a 2-man business. Some regional dishes, schnitzel but also a noodle dish are offered. I had a pig steak with a foreign name Czech, which the host declared on demand as a tomato paste sauce and typical for the region. My friend also had a carving with an unknown name. The host assured that the sauces are homemade. I was very happy with my choice. The meat was very good, tender and roasted to the point. The tomato paste sauce was very delicious with a taste other than usual, but I don't want to exclude some tomato ketchup as an ingredient. The salad sauce couldn't stand there. My girlfriend wasn't quite so happy because she was different than I had a chipper as a basis, which was not recognizable from the name. At first glance, the host seemed a little brittle, but gave information on request and was otherwise attentive and helpful. My conclusion: who likes home cooking and homely ambience is well removed in the Gesecus
We had taken a long time to eat at the Gesecus inn and now it just fits. The guest house Gesecus was opened in 1902 and when we came to the relatively small guest room, we had the impression that since then, not much has changed. The two or three quite large tables are striking. We were lucky and were able to sit on a table for two people. The kitchen is well civic and reasonably priced. We both ordered hamburg carvings with roast potatoes and it shows that this was not a bad choice. Shortly after we had abandoned our order, we heard the carvings were knocked in the kitchen. Everything freshly prepared and very tasty, yet relatively fast. We'll be back.
I was very happy to see this visit, especially since a colleague who came to me more often had made me really hot. Unfortunately, the photos from the inn are on the Internet, probably forty years old. Thus, the reality/the exterior of the house hardly corresponds to the photos, which unfortunately continues in the guest room. At the entrance the door squeaks, there's something sticky, so I got a scare when I enter. Inside there is a little more cleanliness thick dust, food residues/crumbs) urgently need. The prices were okay. Since the lunch card didn't tell me, I chose from normal card. The food did not correspond to my expectation: To a large extent, almost burned, greasy roasted potatoes, the meat ... : I should have listened to my belly) should only choose a scavenger and not the spicy beer plate. Through this dark guest room I felt very narrow. The host was more than a word car, just sitting on the laptop, somewhere ran a dog? It smelled very strange. When I visit my toilet, I read my gaze a little further into the hinterland of the locality, which I would not have done better. Since I'm trying to give every place a second chance, I wanted to do that there too. And wanted to eat there again on Saturdays. Unfortunately, the opening hours are so short, and even on weekends, what I have never experienced in such a form. All in all, would I not recommend this inn, where you can stay overnight?, nor would I ask for more. Altenburg has a lot of really great restaurants with a reasonable price ratio, in far better overall states. Too bad. Unfortunately, I also had the impression that there is a little work there because it must be... and not to be a good guest host/host.
Good-bourgeois cuisine without a lot of buckling. Who wants good and cheap food is at the right place.
