Everything was brought out together I.e. toasted sandwich, soup, scone, cake and hot drink However, by the time we had eaten the sandwich the soup was only lukewarm and the hot drink was the same. We were going to ask for another drink and pay extra for it but they were getting ready to close. It would have been better if they had brought out them separately. Some of the toasties could be dipped in the soup but tuna ? No way.
We ordered a number of takeaway afternoon teas back in March of this year which were excellent. A great selection of sandwiches, scones cakes. We picked up another one today which again was brilliant. Highly recommended and well worth a visit (or takeaway).
We have never had an afternoon tea from Alfreton House Tearooms before and were.looking forward to it. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and they cater for all/most people. Even though I was dairy free, there was a healthy choice of savouries and sweets. We were impressed.
Thank you Michelle for looking after us we really enjoyed our afternoon tea. The brownies were delicious we even took some home We will be back.
We came here yesterday, six of us to celebrate a birthday. We had a mix of traditional afternoon tea and winter ones. Mine was gluten free and amazing. Sandwiches, crisps, salad, scone with clotted cream and jam, carrot cake, lemon drizzle cake and rocky Road served with a massive pot of tea, all for 12 pounds. Can't rave about this place enough. The staff were fabulous.
