Whiskey River Ames

Good bar for people watching, drinks were strong, the juke box presented unique, beautiful bartenders who were attentive and some really nice boiled pommes around 10 o'clock! we were up to 130 and blew $100 plus gave our server $20 we come back.

Every single time we've gone here we've gotten overcharged. We've had several more beers/drinks added to our tab than what we had. The first time we went someone else paid and didn't think the total was right. When he got the itemized receipt we realized they added 4 more drinks than what we actually got. People have told us to watch out for this but we didn't realize it was such an issue until it happened 3 times in a row. The bartender always apologizes and says it was a mistake made by someone else, but I don't understand how so much extra can be added to a tab with no explanation. We only had one bartender the whole time so why would someone else be adding multiple drinks to our tab? Bad business.

Such good food. I strongly recommend the cheese curds and wings. The gals working the bar when I was there were fun and very attentive. Great place to watch a game. Loved it! Go Cyclones!

If you would have answered your phone. Definitely called multiple times. It was a Saturday. Just wanted to try you food. So I'll just assume.

It's smells pretty musty in there and the table was filthy including the bathrooms
