Grand Hotel - Armidale

This is a popular lunch and dinner spot for everyone. The menu is comprehensive and offers a range of options from the $10 Lunch Menu to more substantial and more gourmet dishes. I dined there with a friend on very hot Saturday afternoon, and we were pleased that we arrived early as the hotel quickly became very busy. We chose to sit inside; however tables on the shaded deck are available.We both chose our dishes from the Lunch Menu. I had the lamb cutlets, mash and vegetables and my friend had the Nachos. Both of these meals were substantial, well presented and served quickly and efficiently. On other occasions I have chosen the T-bone steak which is huge and the salmon which is excellent. I really recommend this hotel for lunch; and also for dinner with friends or family.

My family and I went to the Grand Hotel tonight. The food was fine but the bar was a big let down. The restaurant is run separately to the bar. First of all after Ordering the drinks they told me it was a cash only bar. Big pet hate because you know that money isn't going to pay taxes. Then we were sitting out on the deck having dinner and the poor girl next to me had a fly land in her just bought expensive glass of wine. She asked the bar staff if they would mind replacing it and they said 'yeah sure but you'll have to pay for it'. A little bit of customer service goes a long way and the bar is really badly run by rude staff.

Our staff always go here for pupil free days - the staff do an amazing job of feeding so many folk in such a short time and their range of $10 specials don't hurt the hip pocket too much.

Nice old hotel that has been done up with a modern touch. Was crowded for a Thursday night and the food was good - tasty and reasonable value. Obviously a favourite with the .locals.

Love the grand! We normally go on a Monday night for $10 schnitty night, but I have also had their steak, and carbonara - always a good feed!
