After 20 years in catering earlier in my life I recognise good food even a breakfast and the “big breakfast” I was served here today was the best breakfast I can remember eating. Excellent and nothing I can fault.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were not acknowledged by the three female staff members. Despite choosing our order within a few minutes of sitting down, we were ignored for a total of 20 minutes. The staff were preoccupied with their own tasks, with one on her phone, another idle behind the counter, and an older lady aimlessly walking around. Frustrated by the lack of attention and poor service, we decided to leave and ended up at the wonderful BlueBird cafe in Ferring instead (highly recommended). The service at the previous restaurant was nonexistent, with no eye contact or acknowledgment from start to finish. We were not even noticed as we left. We will not be returning and suggest that the staff receive proper customer service training.
The restaurant offers delicious cuisine, excellent service, and a comfortable ambiance. The menu is diverse, with options for seating such as sofas, tables, or bar stools.
Visited on a quiet bank holiday Monday. There weren't many people there. We ordered four sandwiches and some drinks. It took 45 minutes for the sandwiches to arrive, but they were incorrect so we sent them back. After another 10 minutes, they came back wrong again and we couldn't wait any longer. The prices were very expensive for a quiet village, especially the £12 breakfast.
