It was busy and the food coming from the kitchen looked great and seems like alot of food for the money. The staff was very friendly and the owner came out and chatted, pretty funny guy. Great food and atmosphere, will definitely eat here again.
Unfortunately, we expected much more. Server was very nice and attentive. The food was at very best mediocre. The steamer clams were served in a large bowl with an obscene amount of very poorly made broth with little flavor that looked like dishwater. The vast majority of the clams were full of sand and the container for the spent steamer clam shells was a dirty Philadelphia cream cheese container. The salad was prepared well but served on a plate that was half the size that should’ve been. The vegetable mix and Bay shrimp were all nice looking and good tasting however, it was nearly impossible to eat.The fish and chips were OK but some of the fries were cold in the middle, leading me to believe they hadn’t been fried long enough. The chowder was tasty but blacked flavor it’s redeeming quality was the large chunks of clam however, the potatoes were over cooked and almost nonexistent as they were super mushy.Lastly, they were fruit flies, swarming around our table. I did have a chance to water the nearly dead plant however.Should have gone to a food truck or anywhere else. I feel mostly bad for the server. She did a good job.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! The outdoor seating was amazing and super dog friendly, our dog was even given a smoked salmon skin treat upon arrival (which she LOVED)! Our server was so friendly and shared her local knowledge of the area. The food was delicious...clam chowder was some of the best we have ever had, rock fish and chips was fresh and tasty, and the crab melt with the various cheeses mixed was amazing! Near the end of our meal Ron came over, offered our dog another salmon skin treat, and chatted for a minute. You need to check this place out!
We just moved to the area, my in laws came to visit for the first time and this was our first restaurant immediately after their arrival. The food was incredible and the owner went above and beyond to make my birthday special and the staff was super friendly. We tried multiple chowders during their time here and this was our top choice! Thank you for making their first impressions of the area a great one!
Very good!We had a dozen of kumo oysters and fish and chips. The small oysters are delicious and sweet as good as it gets. The cod was the best I ever had, in exactly right light batter. The chips might have been better, but who cares. We sat outside watch the big ships on the blue water. The street is noisy, but the view is great. (They also have pretty good seating inside).
