The voucher only covers $26 per reservation so it doesn’t come close covering breakfast for a party of four. The prices are what you’d expect from a hotel restaurant so the voucher doesn’t even cover two people. It’s a little tacky that they add 20% service fee before taking off the voucher but I get it. I understand the voucher system is probably a property decision and not specifically the restaurant. The portions are large and the options we picked were hearty so you could share. The breakfast service was very slow even though the place was at 1/3rd capacity. I feel bad because the waitstaff is clearly understaffed. They barely have time to take orders, bring food and drop checks. Good luck with refills and extra condiments. Waitstaff are frazzled and rushed. We went two days in a row with the same experience both weekend days. We even had to wait to be seated the second day when they were less have half full. They said it was because the kitchen was backed up. The Texas theme is amusing if you’re from out of state. It’s probably a decent chill place to get drinks if you’re there for a conference or event. I wouldn’t go unless you’re stuck in the hotel for a convention. Even then, order out or go out to experience better food and service.
Amazing bar and restaurant worth coming to even without staying at the hotel.
My wife and I decided to get away from San Antonio to spend someplace quiet and relax poolside for a weekend. Having Knotty Deck and Bar at the Renaissance Hotel was convenient and great. Food was very good and a good sized menu. Our first meal took a while and the fries were cold. Asked for new fries and by the time we got them we were almost done with the meal. All other meals and services were great.
Not sure if this restaurant is understaffed or the waitress was new, but the service was HORRIBLE. My hubby and I ate here twice this weekend as this restaurant was located in the same hotel where we stayed for a marriage retreat. Both times it took forever to get our meals. However, the second visit was the worst. Our waitress “Ruth” lacked situational awareness and did not even realize we had not gotten our meal (a burger and fish Tacos) until after 45 minutes of us patiently waiting. Six tables got their meals before us and they were seated way after we were. We honestly think she forgot to put our order in, but instead of admitting the mistake, she blamed it on the kitchen. It took us talking to the manager to finally get our food. He was kind enough to not charge us for our meal which was very thoughtful of him, but the principle of us having to rush to eat our meal to make it back to the retreat was still an inconvenience. We hope this waitress is retrained so nobody has to experience such a frustrating experience.
Do not waste your money or your time.Unless: you would like to grab your own app plates and your own straws. Go here if you want to wait 30 minutes for your drink to arrive. And it 'll be AFTER your food arrives too.Be ready to be told it 's super packed when the dining room is half empty. Also make sure you fully intercept a human in order to get their attention because there is zero proactivity at this establishment.Be ready to be handed your check in the middle of your meal because they are so busy. But conveniently it is picked up within 5 minutes of you putting your method of payment on the check book.If you want McDonalds service for 10x the price, this is the best place to go. Enjoy.
