The staff were attentive and welcoming. The country pub atmosphere is lovely, especially by the warm fire. Thank you again to all at Brown Hill, and we will see you again soon.
We had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant. The food was great, especially since they were serving their new winter menu. The steak sandwich was beautiful, the spudarama had creamy, fluffy mash, the fish and chips were a huge and delicious serving, and the sweet potato gnocchi with big garlic prawns was amazing. We also had a delicious dessert. The service was great, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. Thank you for a lovely day out.
I was so disappointed with the meals tonight. I asked if the chef could cook a blue steak, the answer was he wasn't confident. I appreciated the honesty and ordered pork belly. The meal came out and the pork was hard underneath and soggy on top. I thought it might have been microwaved. I asked why the pork didn't have proper crackling and was told they compress it overnight so that it doesn't have crackle. It wasn't an Asian dish, I was confused about why it wouldn't have proper crackling (who does that anyway?? . There was a tiny smear of sweet potato and 10 beans with bacon. The beans were fine as was the small serving of sweet potato but the pork was inedible. The staff were told but nothing was done, so I paid $30 and ate 10 beans and about 2 tablespoons of sweet potato and pork. One of my friends ordered the pumpkin salad with no chilli and added chicken. Hers had to go back to the kitchen because the chicken must have been poached in salt and there was chilli in the dish. She can't do chilli. This was sent back and a bowl of tasteless (underseasoned chips came in its place. It had Maggi powdered gravy, aioli and tomato sauce. Others in the group had chicken parmas and they were all fine. I won't be going back and won't ever recommend it to anyone.
After coming back again and again Brown Hill Hotel has shown they are a family friendly restaurant. Even whilst running on what seemed like limited staffing they were friendly, helpful, attentive with 5 star customer service with even the owners coming past to ask how the food was and our families night going. The food was absolutely delicious starting with the entree and ending with over full stomachs with dessert. highly recommend sticky date pudding Loved the atmosphere and really loved the way you order your food and drinks from the comfort of your table great customer service . After myself working In hospitality for over 35yrs and seeing how covid has changed our dining and entertainment industry I do feel it is a good thing to get behind our local country businesses whilst still understand how stressful it can be and how hard to find good caring staff, Which they have… Thank you from our family and our interstate visitors. See you again soon. 2 of my meal photos : Pad Thai Creamy Carbonara which I would eat again and again
