Big Al's Pizza Bbq Smokehouse

This pizza restaurant is located next to Bogside craft beer brewery. It is the best pizza I have ever had. It is amazing. The crust is perfectly crispy and light, and the unique combinations are exceptional. We tried four different pizzas - Cardigan, pickle (which was strange but my favorite), potato, and BBQ chicken. I cannot even begin to describe how delicious these pizzas were. Just go there and try it for yourself. It is unbelievably good!

This restaurant used to be known for its excellent pizzas, burgers, and smokehouse dishes. The manager was always present, the staff was friendly, and the food was top-notch. However, in recent months there have been drastic changes. The manager is rarely seen, the staff is rude and unhelpful, and the quality of the food has declined. Recently, I ordered a pit burger and found it to be burnt and dried out. It's disappointing to see this decline, as I had enjoyed their meals for years. Hopefully, they can turn things around.

I ordered a simple pizza and garlic bread last night, but unfortunately it has not arrived yet. The restaurant seems to prioritize professionalism, as they take the phone off the hook towards closing time to avoid taking any more orders. However, this caused an issue for me as I had already placed my order and had no way to inquire about its status. When I called today to ask about the delivery, I was told that there was no record of my call, which made me feel like my concerns weren't being taken seriously. I am disappointed with this lack of accountability and will not be returning to this establishment.

Just took a delivery of a Sals Kiev with chips and garlic bread. We asked for the garlic bread to be crispy (as it always should be) and the receptionist said no problem. What we got was disgusting. The pizza was cold, the chips were frozen fries and the garlic bread was a finger roll with garlic butter in the middle awful (and cold). The pizza dough was also under cooked which I would have thought is almost impossible. We called back to register our concerns and the receptionist was less than helpful. She basically didn't give a c**p. Some customer service. The strange thing is we were not asking for out money back we were just giving feedback but she didn't care. This is only my 2nd tripadvisor review ever and I hope the Big Als owner sees this and takes some action. We asked the receptionist to pass our concerns on to the manager but I seriously doubt that he was informed. Maybe a change of staff would be in order. The sad thing is Big Als 20 years ago was really good. Obviously standards have dropped. We will never order from Big Als again. Just a pity we don't have any decent take outs in Ballymena.
