Neoteca - Barrington

Very comfortable atmosphere, responsive and pleasant service. The food is good but not memorable. We ate several different pizzas and a garlic shrimp gnocchi. Anticipated tastes of all 4 meals were muted. Crust was baked fully but not flavorful and missing the expected texture of a great brick oven pizza.

My experience at the restaurant was decent, but I found it to be a bit isolating. However, if you visit with a group, it might be a more enjoyable experience than mine. As for vegetarian options, there was only a salad available, which I tried and found to be adequate. Parking is not a concern, as there is plenty of space available. I would suggest using the rear lot or the garage in Barrington for convenience.

My husband and I absolutely adore Neoteca! It was the setting for our first formal date, and we've made it a tradition to return for our anniversaries and other special occasions. The food is consistently outstanding. One appetizer we always have to order is the calamari—it's the best we've ever had, even better than what we tried in Florida! The garlic shrimp was cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. The staff is both friendly and professional, which adds to the experience. The restaurant is always clean and offers a warm, inviting, yet calm atmosphere.

Sat outdoors and had a wonderful experience. Gino was a top server!
