The restaurant boasts a beautiful setting and offers a great selection of ale, whiskey, and gin. The ambiance is very welcoming, particularly with the wood fire and comfortable seating. However, the main reason to visit this place is the outstanding food. We enjoyed the duck, venison, fries, and the Bakewell pudding with custard, all of which were absolutely delicious!
Visited the pub after a long walk with friends on a rainy Sunday. the service left much to wish, was not made as if our paragliding was particularly appreciated and there were a few occasions where beverage orders were misunderstood, but eating safely formed for it. albeit easy on the pricier side, everything was clear from a very high quality. I personally ordered the beef burger, who was juicy and tasteful, and the rustic pub style chips were as good as I had in a long time. all my friends ' ordered the roast and these looked beautiful. as I said if it wasn't for the service. the pub would have got my 5*s.
Lovely chilled pub with excellent homemade food and a steak and ale pie to die for!
Great food and great service, nothing was to much trouble, must have been 30 years since i was last in, will be calling again
