Nice little restaurant along the Fox River in Batavia Illinois with a very nice atmosphere. Food and service was very good.
This restaurant is extremely expensive. I paid $32.13 for 5 tacos that were lacking in cilantro and onion. The sauce had very little flavor and the meat was unremarkable. It was the most bland Mexican food I have ever eaten. It's comparable to Subway in that it's edible but not much more. The green sauce is hotter than the red sauce. Each taco costs $6, but I've had $1 tacos that were three times better. They used tasteless white corn tortillas instead of the usual yellow ones. I had to request sauce because it wasn't included. There were no limes provided. I recommend going to El Sazon nearby for a much better dining experience.
Since the change in ownership, we have visited this restaurant twice - once for takeout and once for dining in. The food was absolutely delicious, and the margaritas have improved. The service was top-notch as well.
Tacos are very overpriced, for not automatically bringing some sliced lime and hot sauce with them. The mole sauce was too sweet and not spicy at all. The horchata tasted like it was made with some powder. There was no cinnamon in it. Didn't tasteanything authentic. On top of all that, the service was extremely slow for an empty restaurant with only a few patrons inside.
