Very long wait 20 min turned into 45. But the food was delicious and the service was very attentive. Worth the wait. We had the special: pickerel fish dinner, beef over mashed potatoes, cheeseburger kids plate. All was very tasty. They were out of apple fritters, so we had to drive on without them.
We had a burger here that was excellent. My Toutiere (French meat pie) was small and not flavorful and I thought overpriced for the size.. I did enjoy the baked beans that came with the meal. There poutine fries were good. We also had a large amount of fries on all of our orders. My son's grilled cheese was OK, but he did care for the cheese they use. It is a good lunch if in the area.
There isn't much along this highway but this place is great. The food is excellent, nicely decorated and really good service too. Although we didn't get to experience it, the fish fry is supposed to be very good. Also, we bought some smoked trout from the gas station store and it was very delicious. There is a motel here too and it looked inviting. The gift shop was one of the best shopping spots of the trip across the TransCanada, lots of made in Canada, quality merchandise, not over priced. A definite place to take a break.
