In response to the owner: Yes, I did actually leave a positive and raving review when I enjoyed the food. It was the very first thing I did. Original: I was craving BBQ so off to Charley's I went. Was the first customer of the day and was thrilled because if not the wait can be a little long. I ordered the one meat plate. With sliced brisket and three sliced brisket sandwiches. $38.00 I know folks may come for me but I believe in leaving honest reviews. Charley....what happened? The brisket was fork tender only but dry and bland to the taste, the sauce saved it. Their sauce is one of the very best I've had in the area. Reminds me of the KC style sauce from the Midwest, sweet and spicy. The baked beans could have come from a can. So unappealing. The potato salad reminded me of store bought brand because the potatoes were slightly rubbery. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fresh. I'll just say absolutely no one stuck their foot in either one. When I frist had Charley's it was lovely, I was excited and bragged on it often. No one could tell me any different but I haven't had it since May 2021 and I'm not sure what happened but it is not the same quality at all. All I can say is there is some new and stiff competition in the area right now. One can't afford to drop the ball at this point. Charley's sauce is still the bomb though. I may try them again but after today...not at all at the top of my list to do so. Sorry Charley!

I loved the Turkey leg. It was huge. Enough for two people. It was tender and juicy. Needed seasoning though. I added hot sauce and it was excellent. My hubby ordered ribs and brisket with rice and potatoe salad. He says it was all good and tender however he doesn't care for all the smoke in the meat.

When we went through the city, we searched for a local bbq and chose Charlie's based on reviews. We were not disappointed! We had oxtails, pork chips and cut beef. All were delicious, but the oxen were melted-in-your-mouth and the pork stable was probably the best we ever had! Fork delicate and excellent taste! Sauce is great! The pages were also delicious. Will definitely be back on the next car ride through Beaumont!

The chipped beef sandwich was delicious the over all taste of food was able to contain all the negatives I had, which would only be that there are no sides with a $8 sandwich if for $11 you can have a rib plate, but as I said it tastes amazing and you quickly forget about such petty things I highly recommend

The food was delicious and cheap. It was my first time to try the East Texas Style link and I liked it dipped into the sauce! I had a 2 meat plate with rib and left, rice dressing and potato salad with sauce on the side. The sauce is sweeter, but well seasoned with what I think is a touch of cinnamon. I have a bag of cracklins for snacks and they were also good. Sherry gave us an impeccable service, answered all our questions and fucked with us. We will return soon! Back to work and told all our colleagues to try it!
