Our family had not gone to a restaurant for about two years so this was special. I had called the Wednesday before to reserve a specific table, #22, in an alcove away from other people. I asked for this table because we were celebrating my brother's and husband's 80th birthdays and my 75th. Because we are in the at risk age group, we did not want to be in the middle of the room among lots of other people. Also, my husband is a recent cancer and stem cell transplant patient who is now on dialysis. We need to be careful during the pandemic. The person who took the reservation was very accommodating and she would reserve the space for our party of eight. We arrived on time and found the alcove occupied by a group of young guys. I complained to the hostess who said they moved us to another table in the middle of the room. We've been regulars at The Silverado since it opened in south Elmhurst. We know Jack, the owner, who runs a tight ship. We chose this place because it's well-run and thought we could trust them to honor our reservation request. Jack came to our table with a halfhearted excuse. He offered no resolution and no gesture of good will. Sorry to say that the experience was very disappointing. I know that it's not the end of the world, but it could be for three seniors and one with pretty serious underlying conditions. I did what i could to ensure a safe outing for the family and trusted that The Silverado was the place, but I certainly was wrong about this.
Ron is back!! Revamped mood and appearance of the room. Open Tuesday through Saturday. Extensive menu, with prime rib on Friday, full bar with special cocktails. Service is so much improved and wait staff dressed appropriately. The food is well prepared and served. Don't miss the table side Bananas Foster. Come on back for a great meal in a great restaurant!
Great place great atmosphere and customer service food is good and priced fairly and under NEW OWNERS give then a try.
My filet was so tender flavorful, you could cut it with a fork. The fried green beans were very good. I am not a fan of the veggies that are served on the plate. We were a party of six and we had excellent service. I recommend it for good food service.
**** poor!!! This place was severely overpriced. It had no idea how to be a restaurant. I ordered a medium ribeye steak and Cajun broiled shrimp. What I got was a very rare steak with 4 grilled shrimp that cost 8 bucks. The shrimp tasted like a charred flip flop. The server didn't know the difference between white and red Zinfandel. My wife ordered a sirloin with burgundy mushrooms. What she got was a burnt steak with Campbell's soup. So the decor was jazz posters all over the walls with an occasional longhorn rack. Yes jazz posters in rodeo arena saloon restaurant. Bizarre! And I highly question the cleanliness of the kitchen.
