The Rustic Coffee Wine - Bellingham

My favorite coffee shop in the city. the breakfast packages are delicious and fill. they always have cheesecake from pure gratitude, which is fantastic. the pesto brioches are amazing and I mentioned the coffee!? superb. the best london nebel. amazing mochas. great carmel macchiatos. and they serve beer and wee.

The staff is outstanding. They know the area, the local baker who brings in the cakes and pastries. The Coffee is outstanding. A great double espresso pour for sure. The wine bar is a cool add and nice touch for later in the day. Their wifi is strong and the seating is comfortable. The staff's music playlist is spot-on also.

This place has evolved over the past year and It has become a favorite coffee shop for me. I like the espresso better than Tony's and they have coconut milk as an alternative pretty yum! Also, you can keep your name on file (no punch card to carry around and lose) to earn free drinks!

4/5 stars only because the place is so small students were studying next to us and we felt like we couldn't talk in normal voices at risk of bothering them. However, the coffee and cold drinks were delicious, and they had a nice looking selection of pastries, baked goods and sandwiches. I asked for strawberry syrup in my lemonade and they offered me fresh fruit instead, which was a pleasant surprise. There's a small outdoor seating area in the alley which would be delightful on a hot day, as it's mostly shaded.

I've always been a fan of Rustic up until today, but am less than impressed by the service. I was barely greeted, and not with a smile, then was ignored at the counter while my drink was rang up. I was charged 25% more than the price on the menu and when I asked about the difference, I was informed that they now serve a different tea, thus the price difference. No apology, no offer to discount, seemingly no care. I know some people hate on the big businesses like Starbucks and Woods, but their customer service is far superior and they will have my business any day of the week. They were not outright rude, and they do offer a relaxing environment with inviting decor, thus the 3 stars instead of 1 or 2.
