I had the classic casoncelli with pancetta and butter, my friend the taglierini with porcini. all with an excellent (and excellently named local cabernet. flawless service. give them their business: the restaurant is part of a non-profit organization that is involved in several socially responsible initiatives in the community (elderly, kinder, etc.) you do yourself and others very well. special mention for the petty old man who managed to spice a huge fiorentina and to gnead on the bone when we fought with the primo. bravo.
Eating was very good, nice and fast service and the restaurant is simply beautiful in the opposite where we sit. the weeping wall loved beside our table. reasonable prices too.
A hidden gem of the local kitchen. the place looks like the old museum with arches and frescoes. the service is very good and fast. better to book in advance.
The 15 € menu is really good. the pasta tasted amazing and the meat was soft and tasty. highly recommended.
Such restaurants are truly hard to find, especially in so touristic areas. You feel that this is the place where the locals would come to eat. The cuisine is based on local recipes and both the indoor and outdoor seating are very warm and beautiful. Other particular highlights are the extended opening hours and the non expensive prices. Overall it is a joy to visit the circolino when in Bergamo.
