Contribuer aux commentairesBerkeley lacks authentic Chinese food, and the few restaurants that surround Campus Target College students on a tight budget. In addition, most of these restaurants are missing in authentic dishes. Great China offers Chinese foods found in better Chinese restaurants where you actually sit and order food. The only complaint I have is service and size. The place is packed at weekends and waiting can be enormously long. Service lacks quality, as it seems, they try to push you during business hours. However, most of my food experiences deal with To-Go food, so the service is not too much for me. The kitchen can sometimes be slow. Overall, it is great food, and even better if you can show up in a less crowded time.
Best Chinese food I ever had. You never do something super-fat/Greasy or heavy-feeling. Everything tastes great and proportions are great!
Since I've eaten here, but the two things I remember... 1) I always stayed with a happy belly 2) feeling sad that I did not eat here more often, as other reviewers have already said, the food here is authentic Chinese cuisine, not of this fast food Panda Express. it is easy to miss on a side street, but if you happen to go past, check it out. They won't be disappointed.
Best Chinese cuisine in the Bay Area – in my humble opinion. Here is what to order – you will need some reinforcements or be prepared for a week value of the big remains... Beijing duck (leanest duck that you will ever have, I think they measure the fat on each piece they serve), sauteed crab (all the crab and none of the work, and no worries the egg is cooked when mixed with the hot crab), double skin (I am not a fan of mustard, but that is good with a little), fish dumplings (with chives, very smooth) And there's a tofu court. Not sure whether it’s braided or maybe it’s called “Tough-Skin”, but it’s also one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with any combination of these dishes (we assumed the same taste and standards).
Best in Berkeley. You have to know what to order though.
