Our flavors were butter cake, marble cake, and raspberry cake and each tasted amazing. Every guest enjoyed this cake, so much so we had almost none left over. They delivered on time and set the cake up perfectly. Thank you Clay's for all your hard work, and kindness!
Clay’s is in a league of its own. I’ve never had a flavor I didn’t like, and I’ve never had them say no to any decorating ideas or requests in the several years I’ve gotten cakes here. The chocolate chip pound is the best I’ve ever had. They are so easy to work with, and the customer service is incredible. I cannot recommend Clay’s highly enough!
Ordered the signature chocolate chip pound cake. The cake was so dry that my dog, when left to her own devices, didn't eat more than a nibble. Disappointing.
Clay’s did an amazing job on my husband’s birthday cake! I know thier cakes are always delicious but the decorating was meticulous and beautiful. There were so many compliments on the cake taste and decorating. Thank you!
Let me start off by saying I have loved this bakery for a long time. My favorite cake they did was for my baby shower. It was both beautiful and delicious.I was excited to order a cake from them for my husband’s 50th birthday party, but we don’t live nearby so I called the order in rather than ordering it in person. My recommendation is that if you are ordering over the phone, you need to ask for a mock-up of your cake before agreeing to the design, or come prepared to email your own mock-up to the bakery so there is no confusion.Unfortunately, my neurodivergent brain didn’t interpret the design description I was told over the phone, and when I arrived and saw the cake, I was very disappointed.I’m not usually one to speak up for myself, but this was for a very special occasion so I let them know that I didn’t like it and that it wasn’t what I was expecting at all.One of the employees took the cake to the back and they brainstormed different ideas and came back out and presented an idea to me. My husband and I agreed to that, but I was still so disappointed and anxious over trying to speak up for myself that I started to cry a little. I felt so embarrassed! One very sweet employee made seats available for my husband and I to sit in while we waiting. I thought we were waiting for them to decorate the cake, but instead I guess they were listening to the phone call when I ordered the cake.A while later, a different woman came out with the cake and it hadn’t been updated, and she confronted me telling me that this was what was described to me on the phone. So at that point I understood that they weren’t going to fix the cake. I didn’t want to get into the fact that on the phone call I asked for the designers to make it look great. It was clear to me that was just going to be a waste of my time.I said please just give me the cake. I wanted to just get out of there. I felt so humiliated. This other woman pushed and was telling me again how that was what was described on the phone. I finally just had to explain that I am autistic and I didn’t hear that.It was unfortunate, because I really love this bakery. I just didn’t feel great how the whole situation played out.I highly recommend getting visual confirmation of any design so that you won’t be disappointed when you pick up the cake.
