See pictures: Jambon Belotta 5 with tomato and kind of blown up crackers, carpaccio from matured beef picanha, different from the normal carpaccio very tasteful. A big surprise were the anchovies, with cow butter, lovely with a very nice presentation. Tuna tartar, also different, but I didn’t like this one so much, too many different strong tastings stacked together, you can’t taste the tuna, undoubtedly also of top quality I call that too much noise All accompanied with a white Rioja. Service a little arrogant one of the waiters as you use to see in French restaurants but correct and friendly. Expensive but worth the money 4,8 stars
Fantastic curb appeal from the exterior really makes the restaurant stand out and encourages you to enter. The decor is a high-end finish and the Pintxos looked fantastic, displayed under shining glass domes. We ordered four along with a couple of glasses of Crianza. The wine was excellent but unfortunately, the Pintxos were completely underwhelming. Both the Cod Pil Pil and the Crab Croquettes were bland and lacked any flavor. Unfortunately, we paid before realizing we had been overcharged. The staff were apologetic and refunded the overcharge without question.
We were a large group of around 20 or so and the staff were extremely accommodating and the room they put us in upstairs was excellent. Sadly the food was overall fairly average across the board and it was a fixed menu of around 6/7 courses. Possible exception of the octopus, but a white fish they served (Cod maybe? us in a yellow (curry looking but not tasting sauce was almost inedible and beyond tasteless, perhaps ruined the whole meal. May be a better place to be able to order your own food…
Beautiful decor with a Basque heritage feel. We were there twice for their pintxos during the 3 days in Bilbao. A number of their pintos are typical pintxos you get in most Basque restaurants but their unique offering would be their foie gras macaron pintxos and their cream of seafood. Both are delicious and the macaron is out of this world. On top of this we have Mario serving us and he is top class. He speak fantastic English and help us to understand the pintxos and the drink. Fantastic super Mario !!! We will be back.
Great location and a must when visiting Bilbao. The food was exceptional along with the service. Great wine selection and don't miss ordering dessert, the Tartlet of Smoked Idiazabal Cheese is to die for.
