What to the absolute gemstone. the time is still in this very traditional country local no wall to wall sports, jarring musak game machines or other distractions. only good honest country folk, good talk, friendly rental and great beer. It can continue for a long time.
Lovely little village pub with friendly locals and my husband days the beer is good. He should know! Tonight there was a live performance by a poet called Luke Wright. It was brilliant, funny, witty, entertaining, clever and thought provoking all in an hour which left plenty of drinking time. Sad to say last evening of entertainment in the marquee until warm weather again next year.
Really pleasant pub, very warm and friendly. Exactly what a rural pub should be.
A true hidden gem with more history than any pub I've ever visited. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of the establishment. The prices were reasonable, which is surprising for a southern village pub. I highly recommend it—it's the perfect spot for any hiker in the area.
