The bathrooms were located in the casino, way away from the restaurant. Overall, it just alright. Parking: Parking is casino parking. So if casino is busy, it will be even more difficult. We had to park really far away. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly. They would enjoy it. Has a fun vibe.
Girls ' birthday trip. Took my best friend here for dinner for her birthday. What a disappointment! We wanted to check out this place for the experience. Despite being avid shrimp lovers, both my friend and I left disappointed. Even my typically easygoing friend found faults. We stood at the entrance for several minutes when someone finally took note that we were there instead of seating us they went to find someone else to seat us. We were sat at a table without asking for our preferences, the chairs were uncomfortable that wouldn 't have been such an issue if the meal hadn 't taken so long.We were eventually greeted by a server. We ordered garlic bread oysters. When she returned for our entrees We asked her suggestions because it was our first time here she suggested the stuffed shrimp. Which I ended up deciding to order, my friend ordered Shrimper’s Heaven we added an order of seafood hushpuppies to our app order. A lengthy period of time passed we didn 't receive our apps then the server arrived with our entrees. She said she 'd forgotten to put our apps in did we still want them. We were eager to try the oysters so we agreed.Stuffed Shrimp- These appear to have been frozen prior to cooking the tails were mashed down in the stuffing. Even after pulling the tails up off there were pieces of shrimp shell or crab cartilage mixed in with the stuffing that was just a mushy watery mess. The sauce on the plate was good though. The garlic bread was a crouton crumbling in my hands.Shrimper’s Heaven- The tempura shrimp had zero seasoning it tasted like nothing with something rubbery in the middle. The fried shrimp were OK the coconut shrimp were the most edible thing we received. Not the best I 'd ever had but wouldn 't have complained if this is all I had ordered.I flagged our server down as we were close to finishing with our meal the apps still hadn 't shown up told her that I 'd decided that we didn 't need the garlic bread as it was a wait-on-a-meal kind of thing we were pretty much finished. I should have told her the same about all the apps but we were still excited to try seafood hush puppies the oysters. She was too rushed to get away from us to tell her that our food wasn 't up to par.Someone else brought the apps from the kitchen. She ate one of the oysters encouraged me to try one. This was a watery mess! A combination of hot cheese bread crumbs dirty pond water. Neither of us were interested in trying to pursue those any further.Seafood hushpuppies- when you say something is seafood I expect crab, shrimp, maybe oysters, octopus, potentially flake fish. These were dense balls. The outside was deceptively good so your immediate tongue feel taste was pleasant but once you bit into them the dense inner dough combined with pieces of some sort of dark firm fish was terrible. I quickly swallowed threw down the other half. Our meal totaled out to about $85 we sat surrounded by the half-full plates waited to see the server. No refills, no table touches, server nowhere to be found throughout the meal. No celebration for my friend 's birthday, no chance to order dessert.I finally got up asked the bartender if I could pay him so I could go. He told me he could not take our payment but offered to go get our server. So she appeared with a check noting the plates on the table asked if we wanted boxes to which we both frowned said no before we could say more she immediately disappeared again while I was trying to pull out payment. So after we sat there for another while now mad I left the $100 gift card I had in hand left the restaurant. This is not a place to go to celebrate, this is not a place to go to get a quick bite, heck this isn 't a place to go to get good food or good service. Just skip it.
The Manager was not customer service friendly and not accommodating! I was told for Happy Hour the appetizer that I had ordered was apart of the Happy Hour price per server, but when I received my bill it was regular price. So after waiting for almost an hour to have the bill corrected by the manager, when she did show up she came to me to tell me this order was put in after inquiring about the happy hour price, and my portion size was bigger than the happy hour portion. Although the server told me I had ordered the same appetizer as the happy hour size.So the manager told me that she could not honor the happy hour price! Not a place I will not come back to because of the manager not honoring what I was told, and even the server knew and apologized for her mistake! I did eat all of my appetizer because it was a late lunch and I was hungry, but the food was not impressive especially for the price!
We went there for breakfast. Have to say definitely not worth the price. We had to stir our coffee with a fork. Even after we asked for a spoon we didnt get any.Only 2 meats to choose from. Grits, eggs, no biscut, hard waffles and cubed fried potatoes. Sausage was absolutely horrible. We will never come here again for breakfast. And to top it off we had to eat out of bowls not even a plate. Then the ticket was 49.37.
Arriving for a late lunch, there were only 2 other tables occupied. No one was at the Hostess stand and we waited longer than necessary for her to come from the other end of the room, finishing her conversation first. I was surprised to see several dirty tables. The hostess had to remove extra items from the only clean table in the front; we had declined a booth. The server was fine. The food was good on the Seafood Feast except the flounder fillets. They were thin and terribly overcooked. Almost fish crackers. Parking: Because it's at The Golden Nugget there is a lot of parking. However it's a long walk from any parking, and there is no valet.
