Folium - Birmingham

Outstanding. This was our second time visiting Folium and we couldn’t have had a better second experience. We first visited some years ago and were so impressed at the time that we have not been able to forget about it and had to make a special trip back! The food is on another level. We cannot understand how they have not yet been awarded a Michelin star as some of the dishes they have created are equal if not better than some of the 2/3 Michelin star restaurants we have been fortunate enough to visit. I am sure that it must be on its way soon! We had the long menu, all of which was creative and completely delicious. £120pp plus £15pp supplemental cheese dish) For us, the star of the menu was the Orkney Scallop with Ponzu sauce. It is an absolute explosion of flavour, beautifully cooked scallops, faultless in our opinion and one of the most memorable dishes we have eaten to date. A perfectly curated menu and as for the service the most friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgeable servers in which they played a big part in making our meal so wonderful. Shhh! An absolute gem of a place. High end fine dining, every dish is superb but also works well with the previous dish. Great value lunches, refined wine list and fantastic friendly service. Like many places in Birmingham, it doesn't shout but once you've been you're bound to go back again... Just torn when it comes to telling others about it.. Or just keep it to yourself... Food: 5

Fantastic experience for my birthday. My girlfriend was kind enough to take me here to celebrate and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff were fantastic and the food was outstanding. A real feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. If you like fine dining this is fabulous.
