Peggy's On The Green - Boerne

We celebrated our anniversary with lunch at Peggy's, a Bohanan restaurant, and we absolutely love the one downtown. My partner ordered the shrimp and grits, while I tried the spicy chicken and waffles. Both dishes were exceptional. Our server, Dane, provided excellent service. We can't wait for our next visit!

I had higher expectations for Peggy’s based on all the positive reviews, so we were eager to try it out. We ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer but ended up waiting 40 minutes for it, and it still didn’t arrive. When our entrees were served, we informed our server that we no longer wanted the dip. Surprisingly, it was brought out about 15 minutes later, but they did remove it from our bill. The server mentioned that the spinach dip takes 20 minutes to prepare, which doesn’t add up given the nearly hour-long wait. While our server was apologetic, he seemed a bit overwhelmed and didn’t check in on us very often. The food and cocktails were enjoyable, but the service fell short for a restaurant of this caliber.

I’m a regular at Peggy’s on the Green, and I can always count on consistent food and service. It’s my wife’s favorite restaurant in Boerne, and we really enjoy dining there.

Cozy ambiance, outstanding food and service. We would go back again for the onion soup alone. Definitely recommend.
