Food Review: Roma’s in Bonham, Texas A Hidden Gem for Steak Lovers Nestled in the heart of Fannin County, Roma’s Italian Restaurant in Bonham, Texas, is a surprising hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience, especially for steak enthusiasts. Despite its Italian roots, Roma’s serves the best steaks you’ll ever taste. Yes, you heard it right, STEAKS! The highlight of Roma’s is undoubtedly their hand cut 18oz Ribeye’s (maybe a little bigger), seasoned to perfection for just $29. This steak is so generously portioned that it can easily be shared. The Ribeye’s exterior is seared to a rich brown color with a slight crust. The meat is tender and juicy, offering a slight resistance when cut but yielding easily, with a moist and succulent interior. The taste is rich and beefy, with a slight hint of sweetness, and the seared crust adds a savory, slightly charred flavor that complements the juicy interior. The Ribeye steak retains its natural juices, enhancing the overall flavor and providing a satisfying mouthfeel. The aroma is inviting, combining the caramelized exterior with the rich, meaty scent of the interior. This Ribeye is phenomenal, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to your liking. It’s a steak that rivals those from high end steakhouses in Dallas County like Sam and Nick’s, STK, 3 Forks, Chris Ruth, Dunston’s, and Chamberlain’s, but at a fraction of the price. The owner Tony buys the whole rib section of the cow and hand cuts the steaks himself. You get to choose two sides from options like baked potato, steamed broccoli, mixed steamed veggies, grilled mushrooms and onions, house, or Caesar salad. Plus, they serve homemade, delicious dinner rolls to complement your meal. Despite the high quality of the food and service, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. This restaurant offers excellent value for money, making it a great choice for both special occasions and casual dining. It is a testament to the fact that you don’t have to travel far to enjoy a top notch steak. As someone who has frequented many high end steakhouses in Dallas County, I can confidently say that Roma’s Ribeye stands out. After hearing about this place for two years, I finally decided to see if the buzz was real. Let me tell you, it is hands down phenomenal. The steak is seasoned to perfection, and the portion size is impressive. I have been ordering this steak weekly since discovering it. . RUN, don’t walk, and tell the owner Tony, Tonja sent you. Buon appetito!
We found this restaurant purely by looking at the reviews and they weren't kidding. Although this is a small restaurant tucked into a shopping strip, it gives off a big restaurant vibe. The food is well-prepared and piping hot when it comes to the table. The salads came with plenty of dressing. We usually have to ask for more. We loved their rolls! I couldn't stop eating them. The service is super friendly and as I mentioned before, the decor makes it feel relaxing. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.
Great food and fantastic service. They are so curtesous. I have to use a walker and the staff always open the doors for me. They even let me bring in my Maltipoo puppy. She is not a service dog but my shadow. Great restaurant and I highly recommend. Oops I almost forgot...they now serve alcoholic beverages. Five dollar margaritas during happy hour! Dietary restrictions: They will make modifications of the entrees Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome. This is a Family restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: When the checkout staff sees someone in a wheelchair or walker they open both doors for you.
The food was fantastic with one exception. The Calamari was over cooked. The taste of it was fantastic and the Marinara sauce was spot on, sadly it was just over cooked. I offered to pay for half and the lovely waitress insisted on comping it. The Veal Parmesan was huge and by far the best I have ever had. We will be back in Bohnam in 1 year and will be back.
