Trattoria La Giara - BORGO VAL DI TARO

Nice hidden location with a lovely view, good food and good service. An all round enjoyable experience.

I have been visiting this area for many years but it was a recent recommendation from a family member which resulted in us trying this out on our recent visit my only regret was that I had not discovered it earlier! I am a big fan of ragu di cinghiale (wild boar ragu) and this was on the menu so that was the first big tick in the box, it was delicious and I also persuaded my boyfriend to try it and he enjoyed it too. The outside of the restaurant has a lovely view of the valley and we were lucky enough to get an outside table thanks to a reservation with the lovely lady cook. It made our meal extra special to watch the gorgeous sun set and moon rise over the hills as we were tucking into our meal. The waitress was efficient and friendly and willingly took a photo of us as a memento. The restaurant was pretty full for the time of year and lots of locals were there which was another good sign. The biggest tick for us both was the dessert chocolate mousse I've had it many times in many restaurants but this one beat them all three generous scoops of freshly made mousse which was light and thoroughly buonissimo! (delicious). Whilst we'd like to keep this place a guarded secret this place deserves the praise I have placed on it. We will be back! Thanks La Giara for a great memory!

Posto bellissimo a 5 minuti da Borgotaro; conduzione familiare. Si mangia su una terrazza panoramica ma ci sono tavoli anche all'interno. Menù tradizionale spettacolari tagliatelle ai funghi) con contaminazioni ...calabresi!! Accoglienza calorosa. Consigliatissimo!!

Splendido posto con bellissima vista. Cibo ottimo e abbondante, il gestore simpatico e il servizio impeccabile. Torneremo senz'altro per gustare il menù di pesce

Locale in anbiente immerso nella natura, ampio parcheggio così tanto per gli amanti del funghi porcino e non solo. accoglienza molto confortevole, cibo molto buono e abbondante, i prezzi nella norma per il cibo raccomandato e 5 stelle.
