Good service, friendly staff and the food was delicious.
The staff and the ambience are excellent. The food is usually very good and interesting, but I could look strange without the green macular potatoes. Also the edible flowers on Desserts, which looked beautiful, but tasted like water cresss, which was also a bit strange. I guess edible flowers are a fashion, but that doesn't make good taste!
Food was lovely and the presentation was great but overall the service let it down. We arrived on time and stood waiting for a while by the entrance way. Only two members of staff working on Mother’s Day to our suprise. We then walked toward the bar area to get noticed but we stood waiting again and were ignored by the staff until such time as we were finally acknowledged and told to sit anywhere we liked. Felt like we could’ve been told this from the start when we were passed multiple times. So unfortunately this put a damper on the day as we expected more from a hotel restaurant.
The Brasserie itself is quite large with good open spaces between tables. The food cannot be faulted and the menu was very good, with the catch of the day being very good for fish lovers. The service was quick and the waiting staff were both jolly and efficient. Good for me.
