Contribuer aux commentairesOver from NZ for Christmas , what a great Pub . Food was great and staff very friendly . Would recommend it to anyone . We will be back next year.
Staff are so lovely and approachable.Food is a bit pricey for what it is but the atmosphere is nice enough to get past it. Would recommend it as a local gem
Went out for a special someone's Birthday and the Dalgety was the choice of the night, was nervous about this place due to previous reviews but was so confused about this because we experienced little of what others experienced.<br/ <br/ The girls that served us and looked after us tonight were great, polite and attentive, well done ladies. <br/ <br/ Entrèe was Arancini balls, came out quick but they weren't hot, especially in the middle, warm exterior and just not hot in the middle. Taste and presentation good but let down was the temperature.<br/ Main, 400g wagyu steak cooked medium-rare, this to came out quick and the only change I would make would be to lay off the dressing on the salad and the pepper sauce needs more flavour- lack of pepper taste, the chips were crispy and not over cooked. Would I order this from here again? Yes. Would i revisit the Dalgety? Yes. <br/ This place is relaxed and has a high end feel to it without being over the top, great wooden walls with plenty of beautiful plants around the place to top it off. Choose either a beautiful indoor setting or sit outside, relax and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a good meal.
The partner's choice of venue to celebrate my birthday tonight! <br/ <br/ Lovely setting in a historic part of Brisbane. Easy to find and clearly popular, hello Dalgety!<br/ <br/ For entrees, we ordered the shared platter of Arancini (mushroom and parmesan topped with tomato sauce and sitting on a bed of garlic aioli) and the Slow Cooked Crispy Pork Belly (with twice cooked chat potatoes, greens and apple sauce). Firstly, the arancini was lovely golden, crispy shell and gorgeous, cheesy, earthy goodness inside. The arborio rice was cooked perfectly. Great portion size too! <br/ <br/ My pork belly was a little on the dry side. Very crispy exterior but the meat in places, was quite stringy and dry. The fat melted in my mouth but overall, I was relying on the apple sauce to provide some moisture. There were no greens on my plate which was what the menu specified. Instead, I had baby carrots (which I love anyway). The carrots needed more seasoning, there wasn't a lot of flavour unfortunately. The potatoes I was expecting a crispy outside and fluffy centre. I got the fluffy centre but when I went to cut the potatoes, the skin folded with the knife and didn't crunch at me.<br/ <br/ The staff hands down, 5/5 the ladies that served us were super friendly and helpful. Even the staff that didn't serve us just watching them interact with other patrons/diners, they were always smiling, pointing something out on the menus or just engaged in conversation. It was lovely to see.<br/ <br/ I would return eventually I'm intrigued by the Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks!
Saturday evening with three friends started with cocktails here. There were a couple of two-for-one specials before 6pm so we took advantage of this!Bellini and a variation on an Aperol Spritz- really liked the peach cocktail. The other was a bit potent for me but the others enjoyed it. I also had a traditional Aperol and a couple of glasses of sparkling. The drink prices here are really competitive. We asked the waitress which were the best appetisers to order and followed her suggestions- they were all sensational.I then ordered a main which was a vegetable stack and salad- delicious. I left but the others stayed and apparently ordered an excellent fish and chips , steak and a serve of sliders.
