The whole experience was just not great which is a shame because the actual food was pretty decent. So to begin with I enter with my girlfriend and we are unsure if the Bistro is actually open as there isn't a single customer inside. We are then greeted by some welcoming friendly staff who come out from the kitchen to greet us. We take a seat and I enquire about breakfast items with the waitress. Before ordering we are made aware there are no hash browns on the menu because the fryers aren't on. Myself and my girlfriend both order the large breakfast which is roughly £9 a person. My girlfriend asks for vegetarian sausages instead of pork and asked if she could swap the black pudding for an extra bacon. I'm a little more picky and do not like much of the full menu. I asked if I could swap the 2 fried eggs, the tomatoes, the mushrooms, and the black pudding for some extra sausage and bacon if possible. I'm already aware the hash browns are not available aswell. 5 minutes or so pass by and our breakfasts are brought out. I was shocked to find I had been given 1 extra sausage in place of all the other items I did not have. I didn't want to make a fuss so I ate my child portion and waited for my girlfriend to finish her adult portion. Whilst waiting for my girlfriend to finish her breakfast a friendly fella came in and started arguing with 1 of the staff about their car being parked so close to his car that he could not get in. By the sounds of things this is an ongoing issue which is not being resolved. After a minute or so of arguing backwards and forwards the guy left calling the woman a F... Sausage on his way out which I found particularly amusing as sausages seemed to be in short supply.. So after this awkward encounter that caused a bad atmosphere I paid up and we left. I basically paid more or less £9 for 3 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 toast and some beans. If the cafe was full of customers and the kitchen staff were under pressure I may be forgiving but the fact we were the only customers and they couldn't throw on a couple of extra items to replace what I didn't like and what they didn't have available has completely put me off returning. It's actually a shame because the small amount of food I did have I enjoyed. The sausages in particular were very nice. Can't criticise the food but the customer service and the experience overall was dissapointing. Wish I would have saved my 20 quid and ordered tea from Cinnamon a couple of doors down instead..
