There are two waitresses there. Twenty minutes later (in a teeny tiny space neither waitress noticed us. We finally flagged down a waitress. She asked us if we wanted a drink. I asked for a drink menu. We don 't have one, she replied. Okay, what kind of wine do you have?, I asked, to which she had no answer and looked at me incredulously. After several questions back and forth, we determined that they have two kinds of Pinot Grigio. Thirty minutes into sitting down: victory. We had drinks. Still no menus or silverware. The other diners were having the same experience. Two tables away, two parties sat down and left while none of the restaurant staff noticed. At that same table, a third party sat down, ordered, and they were gazing out the window enjoying the view. The waitress literally threw a plate down the table at them and startled the heck out of them. (Hey, at least they got food. We finally received menus and decided to order entrees-no appetizers--to get our meals quickly. A full hour later, our meals were delivered. We were handed a handful of dirty knives and forks. (Not wrapped in napkins...just a handful of dirty silverware and apparently we were expected to set our own table. We were shocked, when the check arrived, that we weren 't comped for a drink, offered a dessert...ANYTHING to accommodate for ruining our evening. The waitress said that she didn 't have the authority to comp us. The manager came over and said that she had no idea 'that there was a problem. And that sums it up. They have no clue how to run a restaurant or how to service customers. The food actually wasn 't bad, but the atmosphere and service completely ruined our evening. The new owners didn 't put a dime into improving the room. The view is great but Sand Bar 's reputation at the shore is that it could be so much better. In that location, the place should be a goldmine. Go next door to Waypoint 622 or around the corner to Due Amici.
I would love to give this place a 5 star review since the food and location were outstanding but our server Shannon was rude and in general had a really bad attitude. We got salmon, fajita tacos, Cajun chicken sandwich, sirloin and dessert and the food was really outstanding. We had a table right by the window and it was great to be right by the water. The only other negative was my margarita was pretty crappy but highly recommend this place other than that.
Had a great happy hour w friends at the sand bar the other night. Nothing about his place is spectacular except perhaps the view. The food is just OK. Service was prompt our waitress was friendly.
My friends and I celebrated my birthday at the Sand Bar restaurant and we had a fantastic time. Our waitress was so friendly and fun. All of the service was prompt and helpful. We loved the beautiful views and decor of the upstairs room. It did seem a little cramped for our party, however the staff let us pick our table and made us comfortable. We all enjoyed our food. I had the Seafood carbonara which was so delicious. My one friend had the sushi, and he loved it. I tried his eel roll and enjoyed it. The staff brought me my dessert with a candle and sang happy Birthday to me. It all made for a special celebration and I'm happy to have chosen the Sand Bar. I will definitely return there!
We had a wonderful experience at Sand Bar. Their staff was extremely accommodating and friendly to us and made it very family friendly for our 2 year old. We absolutely loved being able to look out on the sunset as we are. The service was quick and the food was excellent. My husband and I both ordered the old bay shrimp and couldn't believe how big the portion was! Highly recommend this restaurant!
