I 've gone to Baykers of Brighton three times, with the first time being the only successful instance. Trip 1 Looked nice inside, grabbed a takeaway iced coffee, staff seemed friendly, happy days. Trip 2 Walked inside, the person in front was told that...the wait for coffee 's would be 10 minutes plus which we were happy to wait for. When we approached the counter we were told that they were not taking any further orders because it was too busy. Trip 3 New Years Day. They were open at 11:45 when we arrived, and I believe they were open till 1pm. Walk in, again ask for a coffee to be told that they had turned off the machine and wouldn 't be serving any more. It seemed strange that it was off over an hour before they were due to close. Basically it seems they have a staffing issue whereby they are unable to cope with demand and eventually turn away business. To avoid queuing to be told that they are not taking orders in future we will go elsewhere.
This is one of the best ham and cheese croissants I have ever eaten. The staff is very friendly and they serve excellent coffee.
I was really impressed when I came here in the new year. They were open. They had really great coffee, the cake was delicious and of a great size. The prices were really good. The seats were comfortable and the ambience was great.
The food tasted bad and was not fresh. It seemed like they keep items for too long, as they were either a few days old or made with old ingredients. I am writing this review to warn others not to waste their money here. Even convenience store food is better than this.
