The MPavilion will be opening in early October 2016 for its summer season 2016-2017. This time, the pavilion's design is by architect Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai.
The MPavilion hosts a varied program of small meetings, workshops, talks, and other creative activities. While the pavilion is intriguing, it does feel somewhat derivative. There is definitely potential for growth here, and I wouldn't say it's average, but I also hesitate to give it more than 3 stars at this point.
Inspired contribution to the life and culture of this city. in recent years it recovers in the queen victoria gardens (via the road from the national gallery of victoria) around end october and blossoms well in the february. elegant, simple, unpretentious, but a focus...for a dazzling variety short pleasures and joys. join the drong between one and several hundred. you will find a seat or a kiss under the architectural pfeife or a grassy spot under the stars. cover on a cool evening. good, simple catering. the whole thing is done very well. I was there last week at one night and who should wander in just one of the best classical violinists in the world, richard tognetti with 3 highly talented kumpels. after a cheerful hour of vivaldi, bach and some newer composers they wandered with a wave into the night.
Just stop by in the morning and take a coffee while enjoying the birds. The MPavilon is a summer institution of Melbourne. Each summer a new pavilion is build, and the old ones get donated to the city to be used in other parks. Nice...modern art project. They also organize many activities.
